A heartfelt thank you to the Legacy for selecting Be A Friend – Impact A Life as a beneficiary of the 25th Legacy Invitational. This program holds special meaning for Rolf, me, our family, and everyone whose lives have been touched by homelessness. Your funds will help us expand this program across the county in collaboration with the Lucky Duck Foundation and start an “uncommon friendship movement” that changes the state of homelessness – one relationship at a time. 
Homelessness has reached a critical point in San Diego and remains the most urgent challenge facing our city. Studies have shown that one of the most effective ways for individuals experiencing home lessness to access services and begin rebuilding their lives is through developing supportive, healthy relationships. 
Be A Friend – Impact A Life is a step-by-step program that activates and trains volunteers, working through service organizations, to bring hope and lasting change to the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness through the simple yet powerful gift of friendship. Through the Be A Friend program, you will be paired with someone at risk of or experiencing homelessness, giving them the chance to feel heard, valued, and understood—and, through the power of friendship, to work toward building the life they desire.
